Goal is to finish up a bunch of "draft posts" and publish them. This one was started on Tues 7/26/22
"Still a little shook up from what I saw/experience this morning. A bunch of little decisions added up- putting me at the right place at the right time.
Took Grace (my youngest child) with me in our mini van to drive the 3 miles to the car mechanic shop to drop off our car title and pick up $ for the car we no longer used and sold. (Before my husband went to work he asked about signing the title. Had he not ask, I would have totally forgotten to have him do that and I would have not have taken the title at that time.) There was traffic backed up due to a car waiting to turn left onto a side road. It just turned and traffic ahead of me was moving up the hill once again. I was in the now, paying attention -I noticed a dog pacing back and forth and had a quick thought- Dog might jump out of the truck bed ahead of me. Then thought of if he does- stop my car and put on flashers to get the dog even though that road is very dangerous and no room to pull over since no side. I would quickly put my van in park and run and grab the dog and put him in my van and follow the truck to where they were going and reunite them with their dog. Those were my thoughts. Then a split second later I saw the dog jump out. However, to my shock, and horror- he was attached to a long leash and the leash was anchored to the truck. I started honking lots of short repetitious honks and then longer honks, as the dog was trying to keep up with the truck and I was so concerned he was going to be dragged to his death. (Thankfully the leash was long enough so it wasn't strangling him and he was able to touch the ground and walk and then trot, then began to run to keep up while the truck) Also so grateful for a horn that works and able to get their attention.)
After a little bit not only did the truck slow down but she stopped. The Lady and her son came out, unleashed the dog put the dog in the cab and then took the tailgate down and saw another beautiful dog and they unleashed him and also put him in the back of the cab. Meanwhile I had already stopped my car and had the flashers on.
I'm grateful that the car behind me was paying attention and that it didn't cause a car accident. Traffic behind us was already backed up. This happened on a curve so cars 2+ deep behind us didn't know what was going on. They probably figured there was a car accident or something. There was no horn honking (besides mine to get drivers attention) or impatience. So grateful that they (people infront of me with the 2 dogs) were able to safely get dogs secured in their truck . I prayed a prayer of gratitude." end of draft version
That morning I was very aware of my surroundings, in the moment and I believe that allowed me to pay attention and be used to help those that needed help. In this case, a very beautiful dog and his owners.
I also realize that "forgetting" to take the title in a day or two before wasn't a bad or neglectful thing. Sometimes I am hard on myself for not doing xyz, or not being on top of everything. I realize now how many things go unseen and our Lord God is a master of organizing everything . He can use us if we just let go and trust in him.
May we allow the Lord to have us be his helpers, earthly angels, answered prayers, sunbeams, light bugs, the list could go on and on.
Have a joyful day IN the Lord!
Ps- I had no judgment for them. I don't know why they had them leashed in the back, maybe to keep them in the truck however the dog still jumped out. But because of this incident I had a distinct impression that from now on they would have those dogs in a more secure location such as in the cab of the truck.
This was their Wakeup Call.
Tender mercy of the Lord to spare their dog and I'm grateful that he used me to help in that.
