Let Your Light Shine- Being God's Little Sunbeam

This post has been in draft form for far too long.

February 13, 2024 – around 6:30 a.m.

While starting to pray and thanking God for another day and having breathe, my mind went to the scripture of Matthew 5:14–16:

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The Lord then spoke to me—thought to thought, as this is how He personally speaks to me—saying,
“Sally, look it up: ‘a light on a hill’ and ‘not under a basket.’”

My thoughts immediately turned to what that “basket” represents. To me, it felt like choosing to live as a hermit—secluding oneself, hiding away under the guise of self-preservation.

I believe in the times ahead, especially during what Scripture calls tribulations, many will feel the urge to withdraw, to hide, to isolate themselves from others.

Over the years, the Lord has given me many dreams—some with very sobering themes and scenarios: beheadings, consecration camps, and also a powerful “perfect love” dream you can read Here. Each one carried weight and purpose.

Dec 2025- Earlier this week, during my morning routine, the Lord brought this back to my heart. I realized that I have been “hiding.” Not just in the sense of being a hermit, but in a deeper way—by not fully sharing my true self and my encounters with Him with others, especially on here (this Blog)

This was a reminder and a gentle correction from the Lord.

I need to be more intentional about sharing what God has done, writing the posts He puts on my heart, and stepping into opportunities to let His light shine through me. To truly be that sunbeam in all I do—not shrinking back, but rising up and taking the opportunity when it is given.

The following hymns has been on my mind and heart a lot lately and I will close with them. Love, Your sister is Yeshua Messiah-Sally

The Lord is My Light

1. The Lord is my light; then why should I fear? By day and by night His presence is near. He is my salvation from sorrow and sin; this blessed assurance the Spirit doth bring.

Chorus: The Lord is my light; He is my joy and my song. By day and by night He leads, He leads me along.

2. The Lord is my light; though clouds may arise, faith, stronger than sight, looks up through the skies, where Jesus forever in glory doth reign. Then how can I ever in darkness remain? (Chorus)

3. The Lord is my light; the Lord is my strength. I know in His might I’ll conquer at length. My weakness in mercy He covers with power, and, walking by faith, I am blessed every hour. (Chorus)

4. The Lord is my light, my all and in all. There is in His sight no darkness at all. He is my Redeemer, my Savior, and King. With saints and with angels His praises I’ll sing. (Chorus)

844. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam- Nellie Talbot

1 Jesus wants me for a sunbeam,
To shine for him each day,
In every way try to please him,
At home, at school, at play.

Refrain:
A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam;
A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
I’ll be a sunbeam for him.

2 Jesus wants me to be loving
And kind to all I see,
Showing how pleasant and happy
His little one may be.

3 I will ask Jesus to help me
To keep my heart from sin;
Ever reflecting his goodness,
And always shine for him
.

4 I’ll be a sunbeam for Jesus,
I can if I but try,
Serving him moment by moment,
Then live with him on high.
